Privacy policy
This notice explains how FocusHum, provided by Newton & Carter LLC, handles information. It covers the iOS app; this website has a separate privacy notice.
Your sessions are local
FocusHum stores timer settings, sound preferences, and focus-session history on your device. It does not require a FocusHum account or upload your session history to our servers.
The current app does not send usage analytics to us or use advertising trackers.
Sound playback is not recording
FocusHum generates its sounds on the device. It does not record you or require microphone permission. Playing a sound does not upload room audio or stream a personal recording to us.
Local data and deletion
Your saved session history and preferences remain in the app until removed. Deleting the app removes its local app data. FocusHum does not provide automatic account-based sync between devices.
Purchases through Apple
Apple processes payment and maintains the purchase record associated with your Apple Account. The app checks that record to unlock eligible features. We do not receive your full payment-card details. The current app uses Apple's purchase system directly; it does not send purchase history to a separate analytics or advertising service.
Device backups and shared copies
App data may be included in device backups you enable. A local deletion does not erase an older backup or a copy you exported. Manage those separately in your backup settings or destination app. See Apple's explanation of iCloud Backup.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to answer your request, troubleshoot the app, and maintain necessary support records. Our email provider processes these messages. Please send only the details needed to explain the issue, without private recordings, family documents, travel records, or other sensitive content.
We keep support correspondence while needed to handle the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations, then delete it when it is no longer needed. You may email us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent. We cannot access or recover the local app records on your device.
