Your journal stays on your device

DumpLog stores journal audio, transcripts, and entry details in the app on your device. It does not require a DumpLog account or send your journal to our servers. The current app does not send usage analytics to us or use advertising trackers.

The app does not provide automatic account-based journal sync.

Recording and transcription

Microphone access is used when you record an entry. Speech recognition permission is optional. When your device and language support it, DumpLog requests on-device transcription through Apple's speech framework. It does not fall back to server transcription.

A saved recording is kept even if speech permission is declined or transcription is unavailable. Recording is controlled from the app; DumpLog does not continuously record ambient conversations.

Sharing and deleting entries

Share sends a copy of an audio file or transcript to the app or recipient you choose. Recipients may retain that copy. Deleting an entry removes its local journal record and associated recording. Deleting DumpLog removes its local app data; separately exported copies remain in their chosen destinations.

Purchases through Apple

Apple processes payment and maintains the purchase record associated with your Apple Account. The app checks that record to unlock eligible features. We do not receive your full payment-card details. The current app uses Apple's purchase system directly; it does not send purchase history to a separate analytics or advertising service.

Device backups and shared copies

App data may be included in device backups you enable. A local deletion does not erase an older backup or a copy you exported. Manage those separately in your backup settings or destination app. See Apple's explanation of iCloud Backup.

When you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to answer your request, troubleshoot the app, and maintain necessary support records. Our email provider processes these messages. Please send only the details needed to explain the issue, without private recordings, family documents, travel records, or other sensitive content.

We keep support correspondence while needed to handle the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations, then delete it when it is no longer needed. You may email us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent. We cannot access or recover the local app records on your device.
