Orca
Privacy policy
This notice explains how Orca, provided by Newton & Carter LLC, handles information. It covers the iOS app; this website has a separate privacy notice.
Trips are stored on your device
Orca stores trips, destinations, dates, and itinerary items on your device. It does not require an Orca account, upload your plans to an Orca server, or enable automatic cloud sync. The app does not include advertising or analytics tracking.
Apple Maps connects only when you choose
Before searching Apple Maps, Orca explains the request and asks you to continue. Apple receives the destination search terms and any map region needed for the lookup. Viewing map results also uses Apple's map services. Apple handles that information under its own privacy terms.
You can keep planning locally without making a map request. Orca does not need continuous access to your device location to store an itinerary.
On-device assistance
When Apple's on-device model is supported and available, Orca can process a planning prompt and trip context on your device. It does not switch to a remote AI provider when that model is unavailable. You can continue building an itinerary manually.
Sharing and deleting plans
Share itinerary sends a copy to an app or recipient you select. Recipients may keep their own copies. Deleting a trip removes its local record; it does not recall copies you have shared. Deleting the app removes its local data.
Device backups and shared copies
App data may be included in device backups you enable. A local deletion does not erase an older backup or a copy you exported. Manage those separately in your backup settings or destination app. See Apple's explanation of iCloud Backup.
When you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to answer your request, troubleshoot the app, and maintain necessary support records. Our email provider processes these messages. Please send only the details needed to explain the issue, without private recordings, family documents, travel records, or other sensitive content.
We keep support correspondence while needed to handle the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations, then delete it when it is no longer needed. You may email us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have sent. We cannot access or recover the local app records on your device.
